La Ilustre Bar
Let me tell you something about me. I have always wanted to have a bar. A place to gather my friends, to offer them good food and good drinks, a place where everyone feels at home. And right now, it feels like the planets are aligned.
I have a friend, more than a friend, a brother, who was my roommate during my college years. Over time, he has invested in different bars in Seville. One day, he called me and said, "Dude, I think I have an idea."
He had found a place with a great history and an amazing location, but lately it had lost something. It lacked soul. Character. Something that made it shine or gave people a reason to talk about it. Somehow, he connected that with my obsession with records.
That is how we started sketching the idea.
A bar that would be more than just a bar. A place to enjoy good food and drinks, but also a place for record lovers. A space where indie music plays on vinyl, where sound is not background noise but part of the experience. And that is how La Ilustre was born.
La Ilustre carries a lot of history. Back in the day, it was called La Ilustre Víctima. Later, some friends transformed it into a place focused on international beer. We want to respect that legacy and keep part of the international beer offering.

On top of that, we will introduce sherry cocktails from Jerez, which might sound surprising, but trust me, they are incredible. And of course, there will be good indie music played on record players.
We are going to take advantage of another side project I have (one record club ) to put a variety of selected indie music albums, from One Record, but also from indie record labels from everywhere.
The idea is also to host DJ sessions where music is played in analog format, turning La Ilustre into a mandatory stop before the night really begins.
There is only one small detail that does not fit with my teenage plans. I always dreamed of calling my bar Luke Perry. It is such a great name for a bar, and honestly, for a person too. But maybe that one will have to wait for the next adventure.
